A food poisoning incident in Ruili City, Yunnan Province has caused one death and nine people are in critical condition.
Kunming, Sept. 15 (Xinhua) According to the report of the People’s Government of dehong autonomous prefecture, Yunnan Province, a food poisoning incident occurred in Ruili City on September 13, and by 18: 10 on September 14, one person had died and nine people were in critical condition.
At 19: 00 on September 13th, 14 people from Yuanxiang Catering Company in Ruili City, Dehong Prefecture suffered from abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, facial numbness and other symptoms, and went to Jingcheng Hospital in Ruili City one after another. After preliminary investigation, it was suspected that poisoning was caused by eating kusnezoff monkshood. After full treatment, as of 18: 10 on September 14th, one person died due to ineffective rescue, four people were in stable condition and nine people were in critical condition.
It is understood that Aconitum kusnezoffii contains aconite alkaloids, which are toxic to the heart. Excessive dosage can lead to myocardial paralysis and death, and it is difficult to destroy its toxicity by ordinary processing methods. At present, this medicinal material has been included in the Management Measures for Toxic Drugs for Medical Use, and it is strictly forbidden for any unit or individual to process, sell or eat it.
